Hi, my name is Darci and I am a new member as of today! I have a few rubber stamps and supplies and would like to learn more about how to get started and where to get ideas. I am also a scrapbooker as of the last year and would love any ideas regarding this. Thanks;)

I learned a lot from several sources:
Stamping videos

surfing the www for stamping sites

bulletin boards such as this one, or Gingerwood:
www.inconnect.com/~ginwood

Carol Duvall show

Stamping magazines such as Rubberstampmadness, Somerset Studio, Rubber Stamper, VSN, Rubber Stamping Arts and Crafts, and Stampers Sampler all have great ideas, regular columns, lots of instructions and ads for stamp companies with intenet addresses for them. Rubberstampmadness has classified ads in the back that have swap offers, which is a fun way to exchange stamping with others.

Gingerwood site has a whole swap bulletin board so you can hook up easily with folks who are interested in exchanging stamping and ideas.

Plus, if you are lucky enough to have a rubber stamp store in your town that offers classes, that is a great way to get really good help. Even places like Michaels and Ben Franklin have classes for beginners as well as other types of techniques.

- enjoy! Drumcorpsmom

Plus, if you're the lucky one with a stamp store near you (almost all of ours have disappeared) they may have demos which are FREE! They might also have a stamping club where you get a demo and a class all in one!

You might also check into any RS conventions near you. Most of the vendors do demos. And some may have "Make It and Take It"s where they show you what to do and you actually make a project there ... they may be free or may cost a few bucks.

You could also go to some of the upper-end boutique-y type paper stores (or craft boutiques) and look at some of their cards for sale. There are a lot of handmade-looking cards out there -- that may give you some ideas to take home and try (we all know you can make it better than "they" can!).

Have fun! (And start cataloging your stamps now (to avoid duplicates) before you have too many it gets overwhelming!!!)

Hi Darcy, since you're just starting into Stamping and Scraping, you may be interested in some of Dee's Videos and Books! Dee has to be one of the most infectious stampers I've ever seen. She just fills you with such excitement when you watch her create......and you get evenmore excited when you duplicate her results!!!

Dee has some great videos out right now on both stamping AND scraping.....check 'em out here!

And if you're more of a 'book person', check out her great books here!;) They are wonderful, either as a companion to the videos or all on their own! Just SO filled with ideas......
