I was browsing the website today and saw the magazine holder that Dee uses to store her stamps which are mounted using the EZ mount system. It is clear lucite and holds I think 11 sets. Posh sells these now. Cool!

I was drooling over the new border set of stamps, too. Aren't these awesome?! Need to add these both to my wish list. :)

I need to get one of those, Daylene. I tried using one of those cardboard magazine holders, the kind you can buy at office-supply stores. Cardboard is not exactly cat-proof, nor is the fact that they are slanty on top, so that whatever you are putting in them sticks out.

But what I like about Dee's holder is that all four sides go all the way up to the top. This would make it almost impossible for little kitty paws to pull the stamps off of the boards. Yes, they have been known to do this, but luckily I was always able to rescue the stamps before they were chewed on or anything. Now I have to keep my boards in a drawer, which is not really convenient for me.

We all spend our hard-earned money on our stamps and stuff, so it's well worth spending a little more to protect them, and to be able to have them right out on your table so that we'll actually see and use them. I am definitely going to buy this holder. Thanks for the heads-up, Daylene!

I had not seen that new border set before. I love it!

Ya know, I've been in a bit of a funk lately. It's been raining so much around here, and so many of the baseball games we have tickets to have been rained out. In fact, we were supposed to go to a game tonight, and I just found out that THAT is now being postponed.

I deserve a little pick-me-up, doncha think? New stamps would certainly make me feel better! :)

EDITED TO ADD: I just went ahead and ordered the holder and the border stamps...and that foot-long acrylic mount AND two more pairs of gloves. Pro-Craft gloves are on sale for $3.00 a pair, so if you need any, go and grab 'em while you can! :)

Oh, y'all are such bad influences on me! I LOVE IT! :D Ok, while I liked the storage container, I use transparencies in a 3 ring binder, which works great for me.*wink* BUT...oh, Daylene, I'm blaming you for this one. ;) THOSE NEW BORDER STAMPS!!!!! I didn't realize that Dee had another set in the works, so when Daylene posted about 'em, I ran right over to check 'em out. For me, they are MUST HAVES!*LOL* So, I just ordered 'em, plus a bunch of the new altered art word stamps. (Have y'all seen those yet? They are GREAT!) Wow, what a way to start a holiday weekend, huh? :D Just keep up those "bad" influences, K? Otherwise I might miss out on some of the GOOD stuff! ;)

Hey gang...the UPS man came by today, bearing my latest Posh order, which included the new Lucite holder.

This is NOT a cheap flimsy plastic box, folks! This is a thick, sturdy Lucite container. Now, I wouldn't suggest that you put it on the floor and try to stand on it, but ot os of the best quality for the purpose it was designed for. Cheap, thin plastic boxes will crack over time...this one looks like it will hold up for many, many years.

I also got the 12" acrylic mount. I remember taking a class at a local stamp store, where they had us using blocks like this for alphabet stamps. I wanted to purchase this block, but they didn't have any in stock. How frustrating is that?

Another good use for this acrylic mount: Ever get frustrated while trying to cook and follow a recipe in a cookbook, but it won't stay open to the page? Just place this bad boy over it, and it'll help hold it down. And you can read right through it!

Then there's the new border stamp set: FANTASTIC! I need to make recipe cards for a swap I'm in at another board, and I already have some ideas that use at least one stamp in this set. Can't wait to show you!

Also...I got two more pairs of the Pro-Craft Gloves. They are still on sale for less than half-price...get some while you can at these prices.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to get some of those clear stamp sets that are now on sale. Who am I to pass up such great bargains? ;)

Thanks for pointing out the magazine holder. I just loved the way Dee used it while I was watching the newest DVD. I'll have to get one of those for my clear stamps. At the rate I'm going, I may have to order two! LOL! ;)

Let me know how you like the pen holder, Annette. I have a different kind of holder, but Dee's looks so much easier to use. What size did you get?

I have so many Marvys that I would probably need two of the 36 pen holders...I have both of Dee's Signature sets, as well as a few other sets, and a few that I bought individually at the local stamp store.

I don't know about you guys, but lately I find that I use Marvys to ink stamps a LOT more than ink pads. Dee's ways sure are rubbing off on me, and that can only be a good thing! :)

I love that magazine holder. It is almost full now. Also, I found a Pampered Chef tool caddy on E-bay (got a really good price) and it is pretty nifty for holding all kinds and sizes of tools - scissors, pens, craft knife, paint brushes, rulers, etc etc.

Greetings. This is my first post and I'm delighted to find this group. I just watched Dee's new DVD today and loved all of her suggestions for storage. I am just now setting up my work space which will be small so her stamp storage ideas are very helpful. The video makes it so easy to try new projects. I can't wait to get organized and have more time to really stamp!

Hi,

The new website is probably in transition right now. (Sept. 29) The new one is going up tomorrow Sept. 30. We are all anxious to see it and hopefully this product can be found on there. Please check back tomorrow or later. :)

Hi Lacieluv - I had the same problem and found this site http://www.stacksandstacks.com/html/90207_clear-acrylic-magazine-rack.htm. I purchased them and they are exactly the same as those sold at Posh. They are $16.95 plus S & H. Hope this helps.

Does anyone have great idea for storage containers for stamping magazines?
I'm not looking for a holder, but a sealed containers to keep out bugs and moisture. :D I appreciate any ideas. ;)

Just so happens that I am being overrun with magazines and so I emptied out an under-the-bed container (and by the way found a quilt we lost) and I am going to put my magazines in there and store them under the bed. It has a lid and mine isn't very deep so I should be able to find what I'm looking for ---- I think!

I actually have a vaccuum sealer and if I were going to store something that I won't need for awhile and want to protect it from the elements, that's the way to go. I bought mine at Costco. You can buy them online though. Let me check for the addy and get back to ya. Check out foodsaver.com There is also a link there to Jarden direct and it has some pretty though expensive storage containers that are clear with colored metal joints covers. Too rich for my blood but some of you might like to have some. I enjoyed looking even though I couldn't TOUCH! :D

Thanks Again!!!

Now, I know many of you will SCREAM when you hear this suggestion...but let's face it, almost every magazine has articles that simply don't interest you. They might be dealing with subject matter you find uninteresting, or even unacceptable (example, nude stamping*wink*), or they might be too primitive or too "newbie" for you tastes, or they might just be something you consider down right UGLY! Well, why not pare those mags down to a more managable size by removing the stuff you KNOW you'll never use? Makes the mags slimmer, so you can fit more of 'em into whatever storage option you've chosen. Or hey, maybe just remove the pages and pages of ADS that some mags insert in the front and/or back of each issue...after all, what good is a 2 year old ad going to do you NOW?

And no, I don't do this myself...at least not YET!*LOL* But I'll tell ya, if we decide to move again, I am NOT paying to transport mags that I might never even LOOK at again...so I'll just keep the parts I DO like, and trash the rest of 'em.*wink*

I'm speechless!!! All those trouble and $$$$$ spent in acquiring my magazines and to rip it up?!? Me, I'm a pack rat. I keep everything!!! :D Now, you understand why I'm looking for a container that's airtight. I wonder if I should attempt to scan ALL my magazines onto a DVD?

How many mags does a DVD hold?? Between you and Char, I'm really ROFL!
However, I never manage to find the pages after I tear them out and put them in a safe place-there isn't any in my house! I will just keep them all and stack them up and when I have "time" (?) go through them for inspiration. Actually that sounds funny too!

Whoops actually had a question--
I have the mag rack storage holder for my UM and clear. Are they allright like that or should they be covered. Just wondering if the parts exposed to air will be affected??
Love these stamps and don't want anything to happen to them.

Well gang here I am weighing in on this thread. Char I actually did tear up all of my magazines when we moved from Wisconsin to California for the very reason that we didn't want to pay to move our hobby magazines. What I've done is put the ideas into folders marked with the general category, i.e. doily ideas, Perfect Pearls, techniques, etc. I am presently doing the same thing. I subscribed to a magazine that I must have been asleep when I subscribed! So I am tearing out the layering ideas I like and I am going to give the rest of the magazine to a stamping friend of mine. When I first started ripping apart my Rubber Stamper and my Craft Stamper I thought I had apoplexy. But here I am four years later and a gazillion more magazines later, running out of room. I've also noticed that I find all of these really wonderful ideas, cut them out put them in my file and never look at them again until I file a bunch more! I'm an idea addict. But boy do I have fun. I just ordered all the back issues offered by Vamp Stamp - now how smart is this. But I look forward to reading every word and finding ideas that will never make it on a card. We all could right a novel about our stamping addictions. But we do have soooooooo much fun and we meet the most wonderful people - right Miriam?! :D

You better believe it-wonderful people yes!!
I just continue to appreciate the responses by this family when someone is in need.
After going back over some the most recent threads, I also can't believe how crazy we all are!! So crazy but wonderful and so much fun!!
Did anyone catch my question re storage of stamps--just 2 posts up. Thanks

I do not see how it would affect the stamps to be out. mine are in a notebook and when you purchase them in the store they are on the blocks but the rubber is exposed. am I rambling or making any sence/
