Hi! I'm a new member and have been browsing some of the discussions. Many people are talking about using clear envelopes.

I checked Shop Posh and did not find any clear envelopes. Did I just miss them? Are you making them? If so, what are you making them out of?

Thanks,

Ann

Hi Ann!
Welcome to Club Posh.
I haven't heard of anyone that can make their own clear envelopes- yet! :p I'm sure someone will figure out how to make them, but until then, we all buy them. They come in several sizes and colors. I've even seen them printed with designs. You should look at your local stamp store, they should have them. I saw them at XPed, our local paper store. So, you may want to find out if you have a large paper store or printer in your area. You can also do an on-line search and I bet you'll come up with a ton of places that sell clear envelopes. Good Luck!

envelope template(s) and some vellum?
thats what i do, if i need a "clear envelope".

I mostly use small, vellum envelopes on cards as a cutesy decoration with something cutesy sticking out of it *grin* And im planning on adding a few vellum envelopes to the baby boy scrapbook, im making for a lock of hair and "what-not".

Thank you for your quick responses.

I have actually been making some clear envelopes myself using envelope templates and page protectors. Since I haven't found a glue that's truly transparent, I have been using stickers to seal them.

I tried using the plastic from overhead transparencies, but it was too brittle and cracked.

I tend to make square envelopes, since there are fewer cuts. I am blind, so I travel the path of least resistance.

Thanks again,
Ann

Ann,

I admire you for making your own clear envelopes! That is a task. I dislike making paper envelopes for my cards!

It isn't totally transparent but I use Glossy Accents to adhere many items to projects and have used it to glue two pieces of acetate (transparency) together. It is clear and dries clear and you can see a line where you placed the glue, but it might be a solution for you. It is non-smelly and dries within a few hours. Ranger makes this product.

Stickers may still be your best option, but I wanted to share another one with you, too. Best wishes to you! :)

Ann there is an ad in Rubber Stamper-I think the web site was clearenvelopes.com.
Sorry I'm not sure but mag for viewing for today. I'll doublecheck tomorrow! Miriam

Just typed it in and sure enough there is a website so you can check it out. No competition cause Posh doesn't sell them. Guess it's OK.

Page protector idea is great! But that could get pretty pricey imho if youre making many *shrug* Walmart had pacakges of 60, 8 1/2 X 11 page protectors on sale a week or two ago, in all the school supplies. Think they are in the office department as well =) If i recall, correctly, they were under $7ish.

What about those plastic, zippered baggies that sheets and bedding comes in? My Mom uses them for holding various craft projects she has going on, to keep all the stuffs together. But i would imagine that *might* work out for making clear envelopes, no? Just a passing thought *grin*

You can also just check your local Office Depot, Staples, ect. The larger chain office supply stores are now carrying clear envies in a few sizes. Not as many custom sizes as you can get online, but you don't have to pay shipping, either.*wink*

Sorry ladies but you'll need to send Multicrafter a Pm if you would like those links. I've removed them. Just a friendly reminder, please don't post links to sites that sell rubber stamps. It is one of the few rules we have here at Club Posh. Thanks,
