I've just started scrapbooking and I'm having a problem. I've been in the theatre for 15 years and I'd like to put my stuff in a scrapbook (or 20!). My problem???
I don't know how to fit my scripts and programs in. I'm fine with the reviews from newspapers and the pictures, but I just don't know what to do with the "3-D" material I have (scripts and programs).
If anyone has any suggestions, I would love to hear them!!
Thanks very much.

How about attaching a clear envelope to a scrapbook page to hold your program, etc. Then the person viewing your scrapbook could remove the program to read it and replace it in its proper place.
OR, you could make a foldup flap that you could tuck the program in, similar to the folders our kids use in school. If your scrapbook is large, you could make the folder yourself, add or punch holes and insert the folder just like a regular page of the book.

You could add a few to a pocket page, but it might be easier to just make a photocopy of the playbills and other materials to add to your scrapbook since 1) the pages will get very heavy & unwieldy if you try to incorporate all of it into your books and 2) if you've got pictures near these items, the pictures might deteriorate (I doubt the materials are all acid-free & it'd be too expensive to de-acidify all your materials). I made some scrapbook pages using reduced images of playbills and that works out nicely. Then you could either just store away your other stuff, or even better, use them to make displays in shadowboxes. For example, you could put pictures, the script, the playbill and maybe bits of fabric resembling your costume, whatever you have plus other things playing off the theme--the play--all arranged into a shadowbox. Like if you did Romeo and Juliet, you could mount a few photos, the playbill & script, bits of ribbon and maybe a small glass vial or even swords and roses. Okay, I'm getting really carried away now. Anyway, good luck and have fun!

My humble opinion on putting scripts and other multi-page documents into scrapbooks is: don't.
I am working on an album of my mother's life. She was very active in community theater for over 50 years. I make color photo copies of programs, script covers, awards, and playbills, often reducing them in size so they will fit in the 12 X 12 format. Then I preserve the originals in acid free folders in a file box for future reference or study. This allows me to create more artistic, and eye pleasing pages with out the distracting bulkiness.

Thank you guys so much. You have given me many great ideas. I like the idea of reducing the size of the title page of the script and I could just scan the "important parts" of the program.
I also found an idea on another thread about scanning 3-D material. That idea I simply LOVE as I've got "souveniers" from each play that I will now be able to incorporate.
I also like the shadowbox idea :)
I am so grateful to have found this wonderful website. I'm learning a lot of new things and having fun doing it. I hope someday to be able to participate in a "swap" even though my abilitites are lacking!
Thanks again.
