CP Challenge: Design Challenge, 6/25/09

Well, we are going to try something that we haven't tried in awhile here at Club Posh. It is a Design Challenge. :) Instead of us telling you what theme to use, we are going to ask you to design a card. I am going to outline the directions to the Design challenge:

4x3 area needs to have a stamped image and and embellishment.
The sentiment goes in the lower left side of the card.
The circle inside the scalloped circle needs a stamped image too.

Now the hitch is that the card can only have "2" colors used on the whole card. :rolleyes:

So, let the Challenge begin!

I had to come back to clarify what I'm reading. You say we can only use two colors on the whole cards. I'm reading that as two colors on the focal image, greeting, embelishment and any paper. Is that correct? plus, are we counting white as a color? Can we use differnt shades of a color? For example, I colored my main image in brown, but it is in shaded.
As you can see, I already started this challenge & then started questioning it. Thanks, JIL

Jil, yes you do have that right!! Only 2 colors can be used, I believe that white would be considered a color!! Shades of the same color would pass in my eyes, it is still the same color!! Looking forward to seeing your design!!!!

Here's my entry to your challenge. I think I met all the requirements. The circle may be a little bit smaller than in your sample, but that was the only way I could fit in the sentiment. :D Embellishing is tough for me, so the only thing I could come up with are the round brads in the corners.

The tree and the acorn are by Posh; the sentiment is by Just One More Stamp.

Well.. felt a little like playing so decided I would work on a card for this challenge... my colors are Pink and White..
I used all Posh stamps on this one. The sentiment is computer generated.
The flowers are from the Watercolor set #2, the Butterfly is from ATC set#3 and the lace is from the ATC set #1..
Although the butterfly looks red it is pink... it is stamped and cut out.(OOPS.. I did use black dots.. I hope this doesn't disqualify it..??)
I stamped and cut out the lace piece for embellishment on the 4 X 3.

Here is my submission for the two-color card challenge. My colors are Aquamarine and Gray. All stamps are Dee's. All images were stamped with Versafine Smoky Gray ink and embossed with clear embossing powder. Scalloped circle and letter "H" were popped up. Two aqua enameled eyelets embellished the 4x3" piece. The two colors are more true in the actual card.
This challenge was fun--let's see some more from you "Poshies"!

Oh WOW, and here I thought this one might be too hard, with only two colors being used and all! But these are all gorgeous! Same design, yet each one looks different! And I love how you've all used small embellies, yet all are different, in a different placement pattern and seem to be made for the design! The three challenge cards are beautiful! This is a really fun challenge. I think I complicated it too much. I used an image that I had to color. That made the entire challenge hard. I may re-do my card now that i see what you three talented ladies have done.

Well Ladies, I have to apologize, I just realize that my card cheats with the green stems and leaves and the black on the butterfly.... I may have to "do over" my card...
It will have to wait though, I am pretty busy getting ready for my hubby's family to come in for the 4th and then on the 5th I am leaving for a mini vacation with hubby to the mountains of TN.... so I may play again when I get home...
It just didn't dawn on me about the green...

Here is my challenge card. I think I overcomplicated the challenge idea on this one. I had colored the images the night before. I found this silly little moose named Riley at the Copic Certification class. He is wonderful to color with Copics! I used brown & black as my colors. I had fun with the challenge especially getting the dimensions just right.

Sorry the above image is so crooked. I just want to add that his eyes & some of the highlights aren't white, I used a clear glitter pen that was much more subtle without the glare from the camera flash. :)

Hey, everyone, the moderators were talking and we decided to open up this design challenge alittle bit. :) We are going to add Black to the color part of the challenge. That means, you can use Black and two other colors with the challenge. :D Alot of people use black ink to stamp the image with. So, let the challenge continue! ;) DebRN
