Idea Gallery Upgrade

Thank you Matt, for your tireless work of improving this site! Now you asked for it, here it goes.

I must confess that I prefer the old way. The Member Galleries now shows the same information spread out so one has to scroll instead of viewing it all at once, easthetically it is also less pleasing with the wide rows with little information in most columns.

The home page now only shows 6 of the last uploads, instead of 9 which I thought was already too few...

It seems to me that the font for the description of the card was changed smaller? Or am I just loosing my eyesight because I have trouble reading it?

I am glad to hear that now we can move work into the "owner's" gallery! That is an excellent improvement!

Unfortunately, many of our users had trouble with the old way (which was actually the new way, since the old OLD way looked like it does now), since it was confusing as to what to click on to view a gallery and what to click on to contact a member.

That is very true, I had trouble with that as well. I see you changed the link of the member name to point to their gallery, that is very good :) But that would also work using the old format, or am I mistaken?

And another problem... now the rating button is missing when I add a comment to a card...

About the ratings: They were removed at Warren's request. Yes, I should have mentioned that in my headline. Maybe i'll wait and see what the feedback is and maybe they will come back....

As far as the link to the gallery, we had specific requests to put it back the old OLD way, but we'll see how the new one shakes out and maybe we can do a compromise later.

I love the latest setup for the Idea Gallery. I find it very user friendly, as I am somewhat computer challenged. The upload is easy and so much fun to see your own work in the Gallery.

Hope you don't think this is a dumb question but here goes. Yesterday and the day before I forgot to check to see if any new cards were uploaded. I was wondering how to find out if there was a way to find out what ones I missed. The only thing is in reading this thread Marta says you can check the last six. How do you do that?

Boy do I feel silly. I just went to the idea gallery and there were nine new photos. I usually go right to where I am headed and never paid attention to those before. I guess you can ignore my question. Is my face red.

That's becuase this thread was discussed back in 2003, when the idea gallery was a lot different - if you look at the top of the idea gallery you'll see links for last 7 days, last 21 days, etc.
