problem logging in to private messaging

I don't know if this is the right place to post this, but Webmasters, I'm having trouble logging in to read and reply to a private message. I keep getting told I have the wrong password, but my password to log into these forums and into private messaging is the same, so don't know what the problem is. I'm sure the person who sent me a message wonders why I haven't replied. Help!

Cardmaker, I am sure SuperMatt will help you sort out the problem, that does sound strange.

In the mean time, I suggest you check your profile and make sure you are using cookies to automatically log in and browse the board. These options are available under My Profile -> Edit options. This may help :)

And feel free to post here whenever you have trouble. Its sometimes better than email because you can get help from more than just me if you post here. (as you've seen - thanks Marta!)

Marta, thank you for your advice. I clicked on "My Profile" and all I got was the same 'log in' message so didn't know how to get into my profile. (I'm not exactly computer wonderwoman). Therefore, I couldn't edit the cookies.

SuperMatt, I tried logging in again and it still didn't work so I ended up clicking on "register" and, to make a long story short, I ended up having my password changed, (which I really didn't want to do). Also, a 'privacy report' icon came up on the screen and when I opened it it seemed all the Posh sites were blocked so I went through every one and unblocked them. Anyway, after that my new password worked and I could get into the Private Message site, read it and send a reply.

Thank you for your help. Really would like my old password back because it's easier to remember, but I'm just glad I can get into the Posh sites again.

Thank you, Marta. I think you're right -- I probably didn't have the cookies but I changed the password and unblocked the cookies and now everything seems to be okay.
