shimmer sheetz are back

Dee used a heat tool to get an impression with any stamp. Had to act quickly though. Dry embossing with embossing folders are the newest way. Versatility available.

Below is a link to my blog. I used a shimmer sheet, ran it through an embossing folder and sanded the raised areas. A lot of the shimmer sheets -- the opaque ones -- have a silver core so when sanded the silver comes through!

Hi April Such a pretty card you have on your site! Are the Shimmer Sheets the same as the metal sheets that 10 Second Studio sells for their emtal embossing?

Julie, I think 10 Second Studio sheets are thicker, but they will work well with this technique too.

What exactly is a shimmer sheetz? I've never seen them.

Here is a great link to a post to explain the sheets and it also shows techniques using them!

I looked up Shimmer Sheetz on the internet and saw a very good video. It might be the one you have given us Stampwilly.Very interesting stuff! I will have to see if Michael's has it. It looks so pretty with the iridescent sheetz and the embossing card use.

Thanks April. I also looked them up on the internet to see who sells them. The opal sheet is very pretty.
