That's a thought Daniel. A lot of die cuts would look good with texture created with an embossing folder.

Question A 'different' Secret Santa Swap?

Let me state for the record I am not suggesting that we eliminate our 'SSS' as it's been done for several years.

Just offering food for thot about the possibility of having a 'Secret Santa' that is not tied to sending supplies or a dollar amount.

One big reason I didn't join this year's swap was that I just don't want more craft supplies--new or gently used!

I would much rather recieve a handmade gift from my Santa. How 'bout you?

Hoping for feedback on this, pals!

And I repeat! I am not trying to replace the current Santa Swap.

That could be a great swap idea, Daniel. A special handmade swap. Something that would highlight individuals talents. DebRN

I like that idea too. It doesn't have to be around the holidays either. You can have a hand made gift swap any time.

Anybody remember the ornament swap we had a couple of years ago? I hang those ornaments on my tree. We should do that again too.

That would make a great idea for a swap. I'm sorry that you felt the need to not play along Daniel. I remember when you had my name as a Secret Santa, most of those items in my box were handmade by you. I still smile every time I see the Snowman Box with the faux gems in them. I love Snow men they just warm my heart and I just happen to be a collector of snowmen or to be politically correct snow people.

I run the swaps the same way they have always been run. I guess things have to be revamped. I'm sorry that you did not play along Daniel.

I really love that idea................the flower child

I like that idea too. I like the anytime of the year as well. I'd sign up if there was enough time to figure out what to make or if I was in town.

I also like the idea. We all go out and buy so much crafting stuff that we are always wondering what to do with when we get it home. A one item handmade gift is something that you keep on using every Christmas. I also like change once in a while.

Speaking about change, how about starting the new year off with a round robbin cotm swap. Person 1 starts the card, sends it to #2 and she adds her take, she sends it to #3 etc, etc. The last one to get it is #1, she finishes it and posts it. That card is hers. The next month is starts out at #2 and so on. Let me know your thoughts, Mary

Is there only one card being sent by #1, or does everyone send a card down the line?

Bless your heart, Lois. My decision to not do SSS was no reflection on the way the swap has/is done. You always do a great job hosting it, pal.

I see no reason to revamp Secret Santa as it exists. Lots of Poshies enjoy its format.

All I'm suggesting is that there may be room for an additional version--ala the 'make a handmade'. Nothing says members can't participate in both versions, right?

'Course I wouldn't expect you to be 'Swap Mom' for both, but you'd be welcome to!

I respect our CP traditions', but building 'new' traditions' is (for me) a way to keep CP alive.

And I know that's what we all want...

It's an interesting idea for the COTM, Loosy, but... I'd not be inclined to participate if only one person receives a finished card.

If all who sign on for a given month start & receive a piece that's been thru the group, I'd be more apt to sign on, but with either we run into the matter of postage, Stamps will be going up again in 2013...

You are right Daniel. Didn't. Think it out clearly enough. I will refine my thinking a little and send out another way.

No harm; no foul, Loosy. Tweaking ways to conduct CP ongoing swaps is what I figure this thread is for. And doesn't mean we're replacing existing swaps.

Far as a 'round robin' version of COTM? I wouldn't mind doing a pass-along so long as we hold to postage = to 1 stamp (2 max) & trying to have groups of (maybe) 3 robins. Not sure that would work, but it's open to discussion, eh?

I wish all members would post their thoughts on swaps on this thread. I'd like to see more participation is swaps so please let us know what you like or don't like about swaps, what kind of swaps, how you would like them run, what kind of rules you think there should be, etc. I want to see a lot of happy swappers in 2013.

I will be starting a new swap for January but I need to know what you are all interested in. I have had to cancel several swaps this year because there were no sign ups or only one person signed up.

Kathy is right we need more people to sign up and we need happy swappers and things to make the club more exciting.

The first swap will be announced next week for January. I need to know what kind of things you would like to see. For example a one on one swap or a monthly swap or every second month.

Please let me know please like Kathy said in this thread please so I know where we are headed.........the flower child
