August Monthly Challenge
Hi Everyone! Before I explain August's challenge I want to announce July's winner. It is --------
Sheila! Congrats!!!!!! Sheila, I do have your address so I will send out an RAK to you very soon! Now on to the August challenge. I think you will have a lot of fun with this one. The theme is Splat and Splatter! Please make any project where you have used ink, paint, water, etc. to splat somewhere on it. It can be a background, on part of your project, whatever. You must use a STAMPED IMAGE somewhere on your project. If you use a Judikins or Posh stamp your name will go in the hat twice. If you use any other stamp on your project your name will go in the hat once. Have fun! I can't wait to see what you do with this challenge! April ![]() |

Yay, congrats Sheila and thank you April for the August - Splat and Splatter Challenge. Here's a little visual using watercolors. This card is one example in my book "The Complete Photo Guide to Cardmaking". All kinds of splats on the page. Super easy, i used a type of "dropper tool" in the photo and a paintbrush tapped on a chopstick for graduated splats (not in photo). Found the dropper tool in a little set of travel bottles and accessories. I just had to be patient while the paint dried. Actually I'm not patient...a heat tool does wonders for impatience.
Oooooo, I just had an idea...a little diluted dye ink refill in the dropper would be great too. I just had to use watercolor in the book because the publisher wanted me to use supplies and media that international people could locate anywhere. Okeee dokee...hope this helps. ![]() |

What a neat idea and a wonderful background! Thanks for sharing, Judi! There are so many ways to splat and splatter on a card. I hope to see them here soon! Flicking water over a dye based inked background or water colored background is fun too. Just some ideas for you to try.

Here is my card. Made on a 3 x 5 index card. The background is a dinner napkin I decoupaged. Then stamped my Judikins chickadee image, Added stickles on the napkin bird wings and used inkpads and q-tip to add color to the Judikins stamped bird image. Then made a mask for the bird and did my splatters with acrylic paint. I really need to edge the card with a color but had already made my picture.

Denise, I love your cute card. Great using a napkin and adding the stickles. Love the splatters. Not too over powering for the image. Thanks so much for doing the challenge!
