copic marker ink directly on rubber?

I've heard that since copic's are alcohol based it is not wise to stamp directly on rubber bold stamp. However, at this website, it says, O.K. - http://www.wikihow.com/Use-Copic-Markers

These markers look great but I won't be investing in them any time soon as I have very little time to use what I have much less buy something else to dry out. Maybe someday.
I would think that whatever the site that sells these markers says is what I would follow. Just because a technique works doesn't mean there aren't adverse consequences that make it not worth doing. I don't want to ruin my rubber by doing something that time will tell would ruin my stamps.

Send a message via AIM to Kathy N.
I would think the alcohol ink in the copic would dry way too fast to get a much of a print.
I don't think it would ruin the stamp. Just clean the stamp like you would after using a solvent ink.

lI tried this once with the copic markers direct to rubber. It dried really fast and I had to use, as Kathy suggested, a cleaner for solvent ink. It didn't ruin the stamp and it came off fine. I read somewhere that you can use these dtr, but then spray a light coating of alcohol on the stamp after you color it with the copic marker, then stamp. I haven't tried that yet. DebRN

I watched a video on Splitcoaststampers and she used copics directly on the stamps, but she sprittzed it with alchohol before she stamped it. Then she said to clean it right away.
