I love conventions. That is my vacation for just ME every year. I enjoy all the make and takes as well as the demos. Then I enjoy buying the stuff! I still have not tried all the stuff I got from the Grapevine convention in January! Sometimes I just buy too much. It's fun anyway!

I love conventions too. Just love seeing all the new things and the new techniques. We are having Adventures in Stamping in April in Akron, Ohio. I always go to it. This year, I have to work the night before but I will come home, sleep for about 4 hours and then go to the stamping convention. There is no way I'm missing this. DebRN

I'll probably spend more because I already have the money put aside so it's not like I have to use my charge or anything. As soon as the show is over, I'll start putting $10 a week away for the next show. I've never spend the whole $500 I have saved for the show, but it's nice to know I can if I want to. Whatever I don't spend, I'll take to the Scrapbooking show in May.

Lois, I hope your hubby can get a job soon.

I haven't been to a convention since 1998 which is the year after I started stamping. I spent hours pondering over al the places, especially a huge bin of unmounted stamps and I just knew I didn't want to go thru the torture of not having enough money to buy all the new goodies I would see.

It is hard enough keeping up (I'm no where close) to buying all the things I know about online! I'm trying to discipline myself but it is a slow process. I do well for a while then I fall off the wagon again.

When I heard that Border's was closing the Modesto store I said to my DH, you know I don't shop there, maybe that's why. You don't see my Michael's, Joanne's or Beverly's closing; I shop those stores. *ROFLMHO*

Kathy, that is a great idea about putting $10/wk away. I will have to start to do that too. I give myself $100.00/month to spend on crafting supplies and come nowhere close to spending that, so I think I'm good on the budget myself. Just imagine the damage the both of us can do at these conventions!
I do spend more wisely at the conventions than I did when I first started going to them. I usually go with a list of things to look for. I usually get things that I use a lot of and stock up on them and try a few new things too. I'll let you all know what I get. Can't wait to hear what you find, Kathy. DebRN

I went to the rubber stamp spring fling in Mesa Az sat. It was a ball, spent way too much, double what I planned. I made sure to stop by Judy (when wasn't busy) and thank her for picking up the club for us. I had talked to her at other shows (I think this is our fourth or fifth show here in Mesa and I have spent money at all of them. I really don't like to buy online and the shows give a great place to get lots of stuff and not pay shipping. They also have people there showing how to do things, which is great. Judy is a great teacher.
