I'm ready - just bought some magnetic "closers" sets at a yard sale - 6 of them for $1 - thought that was a good deal. Have some thin metalic types of wire and thread...hummm - now what? Something I can stamp on....dominos? Scrabble tiles?....

Trudy, hope you don't mind but I merged your jewelry making thread with my just jewelry thread so we could keep all the jewelry together.

They come in square, circle, flower and heart shapes to name a few. You get a large amount for under ten bucks too. Also check out the tile aisle in your local home improvement store for larger tiles to make pendants. I used heart shape tiles in pink, rose and burgundy to make this bracelet. I edged the tiles with a gold paint pen. I stamped a butterfly, flower with leaves, and part of a fern (all Posh ATC stamps) with gold pigment ink and embossed with detail gold powder. Stuck a jewel on each heart and then sealed with a drop of Diamond Glaze spread with my finger.

The base of each heart is a vintage brass piece. Vintage because they have been in my basement for God knows how long. The brass was sealed with clear nail polish and the pieces were joined with jump rings. The clasp is a magnet clasp. Anything could be used as a base including shrink plastic, polymer clay, wood, grungeboard or anything else you could make a base out of.

Anybody else have tile jewelry to share?

It's beautiful Kathy. Thanks for the great idea.
hugs,
gingerbaby

Wow, ok now, you need to sell these to the public!! They are very pretty! Thanks for the tip and explanation on how to make them
Nice ideas, too - about where to get tiles, probably less expensive in home improvement store than if you bought in a craft store.

I love it! I just got started this past fall/winter in making wire jewelry and this is beautiful. Now to get that craftstore built in town...but second hand stores, and thrift stores are havens for many things to be used and used again. Thanks for sharing it with us.

I merged another just jewelry thread with this one so now hopefully there will only be one thread to look up.

I am making jewelry right now too, but no stamping involved just paper quilling. I was trying to think how to stamp on the paper, but the strips are only 1/8 inch wide so I don't think that would work.

How about stamping on top of the quilled shape? This could work well if the shape was tightly wound.

Sheila, we'd love to see your quilled jewelry. Even though there is no stamping, quilling is still a papercraft so I think we can allow it here.

Sorry I made it so big, I am learning how to work the computer. I love my I-pad but I can't scan with it.
I think I will try and stamp the rose and maybe distress it before I quill it. Just for the fun of it. Let you know if it works.
