I'm in the same 'medal swap' as Kathy & had a ball creating it for my swapmate.
Dry-embossed the ribbon with an EF. Did my 'usual' with the CF. And used altered-chenille to make the findings.

Glad you posted your medal here Daniel. I just finished cursing the gallery on the other site.
Your frog and dragonfly look good on the craft foam and I can see you textured them too. I didn't see that frog with the images you sent me. Are you holding back on me? The chenille jumprings are impressive. I would actually wear that if it had a different color ribbon. I don't do orange or yellow. |

LOL, Kathy! Whatareyourcolors?
I know you had a thing for 'black & blue', but not by choice. My current colors are purples & green... Yeah. I was pleased with the 'chenille stem findings'. It's been a while since I used that technique to alter stems.

How do you add color to the craft foam and is it done before or after heating?

Once in a blue moon, I use permanent ink markers, but have to be super careful since I can't undo them.

I did this a while back but it qualifies for this thread. It is not a card it was done on Stampboard. I have been wanting to frame it but the time goes by and it does not get done.

Great scene Mary. It's going to look nice in a frame. I think I have stampboard somewhere. I'll have to go look for it.

Thanks Daniel for the info on the coloring. It has such vivid colors. I haven't tried the craft foam yet but I still intend to do so. I also like the texture. Very interesting effect it gives the piece. Such a good idea! Yours & Kathys' pieces are very inspiring.
And Mary I like your scenic stamped piece. I have been trying to do so scenic pieces here lately so I alway like to see how others do them. And yes it would look good in a picture frame! Last edited by TerriO; 03-22-2013 at 04:50 PM. Reason: Spelling and another thought |
