Caught the 'Chatsworth' manor episode on PBS last night.

It was a good one. I knew that Chatsworth (Duke of Devonshire's homestead) was famous for its innovative gardens, glass houses & water features, but fun to get some of the history of them.

And they did a good job of showing the interiors of the manor & how it changed/grew over the past 3oo+ years.

Loved the part when they discussed what went on during some of the 'house parties' in the 1890s. Woo-woo!

Start of a really hot week for lots of us.

Got a medal done for a swap & it looked pretty good. It was fun combining different materials & stamping.

Beautiful medal Daniel. I would wear something like that. I prefer unique jewelry to a string of pearls.

The jewelry store in Cranford showed 100 degrees when the train went by at 6:07 PM.

This is ridiculous!!!

Naw, Nedra. It's just July. But it sure is hot & humid!

Our town is fairly small so we lose a bit of heat at night. Must be just terrible for city-dwellers like Philly where the concrete & asphalt keep it very hot thru the night.

Mom & I are doing ok. I'm making sure we have cold drinks available--including water. We're eating light & not moving around more than necessary.

On the craft front... I finished a tag for a swap & want to get it mailed.

Thanks for the nice comments on my medal. I think this is the 3rd I've made. They're interesting to create since there's a 'jewelry' aspect to them, but not the primary one.

Stay cool pals!

Daniel what is the circle part holding the horse. It looks like a burned or scorched piece of copper chain?

TFA, Judi. The 'wreath' is aluminum can. I used 2 Nesties dies to make the blank & then ran it thru an EF to emboss. I created the finish by using permanent markers, Tulip paint & Perfect Pearls Mist (copper).

As usual, when I'm in 'faux mode', I place & remove color, add more of this & a touch of that until I'm happy--or too tired to do more. Every now & then I like the results.

The winged horse is 2 stamps on craftfoam.

Thank you

I would like to tank every one for keeping me in their prayers.
I had a melt down when I found out I had to take these meds for life.
I am black n blue from touching anything and that is because of the blood thinner.
Good news is so far I have lost 15 pounds and working hard at loosing more.

Miss my sweets and ice cream. I will try harder to be more involved with the club

...and speaking of Copics, how long do they last unopened or unused? I have had mine in a Tupperware container for QUITE awhile ........I know, I know, it was stupid of me to buy them!! You'd all be proud of me though, I have cut back on buying "supplies" by about 90% till I can maneuver though my craft room again!
