LOL, Yankee! Clever of you to disguise the newsprint. I see a small bit of the text showing. Nice (Judikins) stencil. Is it peacock feathers?

Although stencilling is not technically stamping, you did put an image on the newspaper and I like your results! Good job! Thanks for playing!

Went on Judikins site. I don't see any stencils.

Yankee great job on your palimpsest. I belong to A Word A Day and that was today's word and since it applies I'm using it. Don't worry, I won't make you look it up.

palimpsest - noun- something reused but still showing traces of it's earlier form

Anyone else working on a palimpsest?

okay, here's my recycled newspaper card. I was originally planning on obscuring the print somewhat with white acrylic or gesso, but didn't like my result, so started over. A bit conventional, and I'm not a fan of red and black together (makes me think of cheap lingerie or brothels), but oh, well, the newsprint already had those colors mixed. At least it's done!

Sources: Angelic wings and rough twig (Judikins); "fly away" done with alphabet stamps (don't know whose); die cuts bird & cage by Tim Holtz. You can't really see it but I also put bronze stickles on the wings and green stickles on the twig tips.

Cheap lingerie? I'll have you know my black and red teddy cost me a lot of money.

I can tell you used stickles but I wish scanners would show the glitz. Nicely done.

Red & Black = brothel colors? Hmmm. Using the "hor"-o-scope as your base makes perfect sense. Sorry! Couldn't resist.

I like your piece. Not super fond of black & red these days, but it fits the challenge--black & white & red (not allover). Clever! Thanks for playing.

Uh-oh, was I supposed to mail mine to someone? If so: who? I thought I understood that "challenges" were just for posting online, not mailing. LMK please, Daniel?

Sharon, Daniel is mailing it to me so I can scan and post it for him. You understood right, challenges just get posted online.

Here is Daniel's recycled newspaper project. He made his version of a corner bookmark.

Thanx, Willy! I had fun with this. I figured it was perfect for use in 'dull' books. If you find the plot boring you can read the bookmark or work the puzzle. I used a Sudoko, but might do one with a (blank) crossword.

I know the stamping is hard to 'read' on this--despite Kathy's great effort to scan/photo, but the details show up ok IRL.

There's a Posh stamp on this. The orange spots are the Leopard skin from a Posh set. The 'beast' is from a RAK Kathy sent me sometime back. I did penwork on him & the blue flowers.

Glad so many have taken this challenge & there's lots of time for more. Also looking forward to April's (Stampwilly) April recycle challenge!
