Diana, you need to take a large glass of iced tea with plenty of ice in the glass or some other iced cold beverage with you when you go into the garage. Then you will keep cool from the inside out. Just be careful in this heat!

Well, who doesn't love cookies, especially with chocolate! DebRN

Sounds like Monster cookies to me and they are delicious. My kids and hubby all loved them when I used to bake them, but I usually cut the recipe in half cuz it made such a big batch. One cookie is a mouthful, believe me...but oh, so delicious. And, with the peanut butter and oatmeal it and of course, chocolate, it has some healthy attributes too. Sort of helps justify having one or two. Hugs, Verna

Here in Texas we call them "Buffalo Chip" cookies. If anyone does not know what that is......

My second thyroid scan that was 6 months late(I won't do that again) turned out to be a good oneSo, even though there is something there, it is small and hasn't grown. One less thing for me to worry about right now. Anyone have this problem? Email me if you would like.

Don't have a big 'sweet tooth', but those with p-nut butter can get me scarfin' down by the dozen when I'm 'hongry'... 'long with a tall frosty glass of 'moo-juice'!

Mom's the cookie-chef--I'm the 'oven keeper'...

I used to know (getting older) what did what in terms of the 'fat' in a cookie dough... I believe butter makes flat & crisp;shortening (margarine) produces softer & higher cookies...

Daniel. . .Butter does make flat and crisp and shortening makes them softer and higher. I use butter flavored Crisco if it calls for shortening. I once made a batch of choc. chip cookies for a friend. I was unhappy that they were flat and had spread out on the cookie sheet. At the time I was a novice baker and didn't know such things. They did taste very good anyway. Mom explained what had happened and what I needed to do to not have that happen again. She was a wonderful baker.
