Wendy, I empathize with you! We don't have quite as much snow as you do, but we are being inundated with an arctic air mass which has given us the coldest temperatures in about 40 years, I believe, as today it is (in Farenheit, for our American friends) -11.2F and with the wind chill factor it's -40F !!!! It's terrible. My home has electric heat, which, unfortunately, is an expensive form of heating in our province, so between the heat and lights, and appliances, I hate to tell you what our Hydro bill was last month and this month will probably be as high or higher.

All of you in cold climates, keep warm and those of you enjoying the warmth, count your blessings!

Janet

YES I'm staying in today! I might shovel my steps just to see how much we get tonight. Argh! Thankfully, I don't work now but I can't imagine the schools being opened tomorrow - until they figure out where to put the white stuff. It is fluffy so far some may get rain mix! Days like these are what I remember in the mid of summer ... To keep me cool in the heat! LOL

Zentangle

Hi poshies,

I have been experimenting with Zentangle and wanted to share my pics. I was pleased with the results. The face is a stamp from vostamps.(purchased on eBay years ago) The other is just a tangle I created practicing designs.

More zentangle faces with same stamp as above.

Okay these are the last ones I will post. The one on the right is supposed to look like a scarf headband and although my photo doesn't show it, it has been shaded blue to separate it from the black & white tangles. Also I have a question. The one on the left does not have
the small dotted background. Which do you like better? Thanks for your input.

Denise, you've really NAILED the Zentangle technique!!!!!!!! Yours are absolutely stunning. I tried it once or twice and made a complete mess of it. I can't even doodle properly, so I'll leave this interesting technique to the talented, like you!!

Denise, Your zentangles are great. I've done a little bit, but really need to do more. It is very relaxing.
As to with dots or without - each has its own advantages. For just black & white I like it without the dot background; when adding color, I like with the dot background.

Thumbs up

TY for sharing all the versions of your stamped & ZT'd divas, Denise! I see Cleopatra, Theda Bara & other assorted Vamps! You have this 'down', pal!

Glad you got a chance to review my 'diva' (page 271; post 4058) of this thread. Thanks for asking me to find it, pal.

While you said these will be your last shares for these, I'm going to do a 'pretty please'... I'd love to see 2 more pics. First a pic of the face stamp alone. 2nd a pic of the stamped-image with the penciled/penned lines you use to make the spaces for your ZT-ing. Might help those who think ZTs are just for the 'talented'.

Speaking of talent... I got a lovely 'pocket tag' from Judi today. Tanks, pal!

Like many of my fellow CPs, it's deep-freeze weather here. Sad that Alaska is warmer than Berwick by lots of degrees & even parts of Florida are gonna chill next few days.

the first full dumpster is filled & gone. Not sure when sis will schedule the next dumpster, but sure we'll need (at least) one more.

Tomorrow is my first chance to avail myself of a Lenten Fish Fry & I play to 'stock up' for the weekend!

Hope we're all doing better than OK! And I'll see later!

Wow, TerriO, you have soooo much talent!
I love the zentangle faces!
I have no art background, but the one with the dots looks more finished!
But I love them all!

Denise your zt is marvelous. I personally like the small dotted version best but the are fantastic. You maybe could do a short tutorial for us here on CP. If we say Pretty Please!
