Every few days I fill the van so that I save a couple bucks along the way each month when the prices are climbing this fast.

I've been doing my part locally celebrating National Craft Month by taking advantage of the great sales! After the 15th I will celebrate with my online suppliers.

Yes Kaybee, so glad you are back. I spent 2 weeks in a rehab hospital when I had my hip replacement. I had a great time; they finally kicked me out saying you don't have to go home but you can't stay here; Kaiser won't pay over 2 weeks. It was like a vacation for me! I really was sorry to go.

I will be out of pocket for a few days. I have to go for a routine doctor's appointment tomorrow and then on Friday I am going to visit Trudy and check on her. So don't worry if you don't see me on the boards for a few days! I'm so glad we have Kathy with us as moderator now. I feel very confident in her when I am not around!

See you in a few days!

Tough times bring great deals!

Anybody know what the two different alphabet punch sets went for at Costco (lady said she got them there) a while back? I had never seen them because I rarely go there anymore. Just wanted to know because I found the upper and lower case sets today at a garage sale for $3.00 each set and JUMPED at them. I know it was a steal; I almost missed them, thought they were a pkg of hotwheels. I decided to check them out because my great-grandson likes cars. Boy was I glad it wasn't cars!!!

I was garage sale hunting with DH and he bought a nice size plastic box with 11 small playdough containers still unused, a couple animal shaped felt pens a dough shape maker, and 13 red rubber Christmas stamps all for just $2.00, didn't even bother asking if I wanted it. He knows how to please his woman. *ROFLMHO*

Thurs I was at my favorite thrift store and found a Creative Memories 12 X 12 holder with shoulder strap and full of unopened 12X12 papers and a few stickers for $6.99, couldn't pass it up even though I would have liked to pay less. Then I realized I had a $5.00 off coupon if I bought $20. or more so I didn't feel bad, kept shopping.

I know it sounds like bragging, and maybe some is but I'm sharing more to let you know that in these hard times you may find some really great deals as some try to thin down to downsize or to get a little money back from stuff they aren't using. I just want to encourage you to keep your eye out for those fantastic opportunities that may be literally around the corner.

My hubby even bought 18 DVD's for 50 cents each, best price we've ever found and it was not even a block away! He liked and bought a whole bunch of those little glass cubes with designs carved on the inside. I had passed on them and here he came with all 72 of them for $5.00. I've seen them for $1.00 each at the Dollar Store where they said they bought them as wedding favors.

When we got home my grand-daughter asked if she could have two for a gift for her boyfriend's mother's birthday. All of them were a pair of Dolphins or a pair of Fushia Blossoms with a Hummingbird. She got one of each. So we got our money's worth already just in being able to give her a nice gift for her friend.
